Missio Dei - Participating in the Mission of God

If you were asked why Jesus came to earth, how would you respond? How would you finish this statement Jesus made many times about His mission: “I came to ?” It’s a critical question to answer because understanding why Jesus came tells us why we go and what we are to do as we go. We will be wrestling with this question of why Jesus came to earth, and thus in doing so the greater Missio Dei – the Mission of God – for they are intertwined and become the guiding mission to our lives as Christ-like disciples. Join us at TFNC as we discover anew the great Missio Dei!

Faith Promise Weekend:

Saturday & Sunday, May 5th-6th, 2012

w/ special Mission Speakers Dr. Brent & Mrs. Marty Cobb, Missionaries from Southeast Asia

This promises to be an exciting weekend of serving others and being challenged to join God in the Missio Dei! We will hear how God is working around the world, and how God desires to use our time, our talent, and our treasures to take the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Do what you can to make these gatherings part of your weekend activities, and be prayerfully considering how God would want to use you to support the Global Missio Dei.

Saturday, May 5th:

10AM-2PM – We will be “Helping Hands” to our neighbors as we join the Giaudrone/Whitman School Neighborhoods for their annual clean-up day. We’ll meet at Giaudrone Middle School to help people unload their excess garbage in dumpsters provided by the City of Tacoma.

6:00PM – Dinner & a Missionary with The Cobbs sharing about their ministry in Southeast Asia.

Sunday, May 6th:

10:45AM – Faith Promise Celebration Service w/ Dr. Cobb speaking in the main service and Mrs. Cobb in the children’s Impact Zone gathering.

12:00Noon – Family Buffet Dinner with The Cobb

Sunday:
9:00 - 9:30am : Continental Breakfast for Children
9:30 -10:30am : Sunday School for All Ages
9:30 -10:30am : Kidzone
   Sunday School:
     The Garden - For children birth through age 3 and potty trained
     Noah's Ark - For children (3 & 4 year olds and Kindergartners)
10:30am -12 noon : The Impact Zone - Children's Church program. It's mission statement is "Impacting Children with the Word to Impact the World."
10:45am -12 noon : Celebration Worship Service
1:00pm - 4:00pm : Tacoma Samoan Church of the Nazarene
6:30pm - 8:00pm : Student Ministries - The Upper Room
     The Upper Room happens at the Church. Call 253-475-5340 for more info.

Wednesday:
7:00-8:30pm - Tacoma Samoan Church of the Nazarene
