Pastor Tony Johnson pastors Tacoma, WA First Nazarene Church.  After nearly 15 years in youth ministry in Hillsboro, OR and Kennewick, WA, God lead Pastor Johnson and his family to pastor this urban church in beautiful Puget Sound.  Since January 1, 2005, the Johnson Family and the TFNC Family have worked in unity with God’s Holy Spirit to “love people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.” 

Pastor Tony and Ginger have been married for over 17 years, and have two awesome sons,  Andrew and Stephen.  For fun they have family movie nights, go on excoursions throughout Puget Sound, to the Washington Coast, and Mount Rainier.  Much to his parishioners shagrin, Pastor Tony is an avid Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bears football fan - with the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks a close second.

As a pastor, Tony’s desire is to see people experince the fullness of who God has created them to be.  To see them overcome ”all that hinders and the sin that so easily entagles” them, so they might experience freedom from addictions, healthy relationships, vitalized marriages, and fulfillment of living out God’s meaning and purpose.  Pastor Tony believes that as people are equipped,  encouraged, empowered, and engulfed by God’s Holy Spirit, this kind of life, and even more can be expereinced.

Pastor Tony also has a heart-passion to see churches healthy and growing.  Now what does that mean?  In a nut shell, a healthy chuch is one which creates disicples who reach the spiritually lost around them; who grow and mature these neew believers in Christ so as to become mature disciples, who then reach the spiritually lost around them, thus continuing the cycle. This is accomplished by having disciples who are encouraged, equipped, empowered and engulfed by God’s Holy Spirit, willing to do whatever it takes to reach the spiritually lost around them.
